This project was SO much fun! I would love to say I’m all glitz and glamour, but unfortunately, I have never been anywhere near a Vogue magazine and have never considered myself fashionable. Jessica, however, is SO that! She and I met through Restored 316 and I had the huge privilege of not only customizing a website for her, but also creating a brand new logo for her site! Here’s the inspiration behind her design:
We did a couple of logos first, to kind of feel out the style that she was going for in terms of design. On her design form, when asked what she was looking for in a logo her response was:
I have never had a logo created so it’s time! I want the logo to be fabulous and slightly edgy.
I knew that traditional style wouldn’t really be quite was she was going for, so I went with a few different style fonts and some slightly different formatting.
After this set of logos, her reply was one of curiosity…wondering if we could combine two logos. This is where we ended up:
Jessica loved that the “so” looked like red lipstick, which fit ever so perfectly with the fashion/lifestyle look that she was going for. I also created a small submark for her to include on her photos as watermarks/overlays or to use as an avatar. The final look came together completely!
We used the Glam theme from Restored 316 and ended up with this uber-stylish design!
When all was finished, here is what Jessica had to say about her design experience:
Where do I begin? Courtney Kirkland is one of a kind! In a society of “good enough,” Courtney displays a refreshing quality of excellence; a rarity indeed. She understood the personality and focus of my blog & created a logo that complimented my style. I was amazed at how willing Courtney was to step outside of the call of duty to assist me with questions as I had them. I have already recommended Courtney’s service not only for her creative ability & prompt turnaround, but for her unparalleled excellence. She is not satisfied with a project until her customer is 150% pleased with the deliverable. I appreciate Courtney and admire her talent and work ethic. It becomes promptly evident that Courtney answers to God for her performance. She’s not working, she’s serving and I love that.
